My big girl has learned how to sit up on her own :) We have been practicing for a few weeks now and after lots of hard work on Summer's part, she has finally gotten it down!! She still gets a little wobbly after awhile, but she is just growing up and learning so fast!!
Here are several pictures of Summer sitting up and playing with her toys. She looks so proud that she has it mastered :)
Her favorite cartoon/character is Tigger & Pooh, therefore she LOVES her Tigger stuffed animal. When you push him down he bounces!! She squeals with laughter while playing with her Tigger toy, it is too cute!
Taking a break after playing hard with her toys. I thought this picture was priceless, she sat in this position for several minutes - I think she wore herself out playing for so long!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Today was Summer's very first Valentine's Day!!! We had a great start to our day by having breakfast at IHOP with our baby girl. Eating out has gotten a little more challenging now that Summer is getting into EVERYTHING. She will no longer sit in her car seat while we're eating, she likes to sit up with us and grabs for everything in sight. She is still such a great and happy baby, but Brett and I both said that we have recently noticed just how much more we have to watch her now to make sure that she's not getting into mischief :)
After breakfast we went to the mall and Target to get out of the house and walk/look around for awhile. Then we went back to the house and Nana (Brett's mom) came over to spend time with Summer and bring her a Valentine present.
Here are some pictures from Nana's visit with Summer girl :
Summer holding her Valentine's bear from Nana, how sweet!!
Admiring her new teddy bear, she loves to rub her hands on really soft things, so here she is feeling her bear :
Happy girl :)
Showing Nana her "scooting" skills and practicing rolling over.
Taking a break to watch some cartoons, her favorites now are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Tigger & Pooh. She doesn't move when they come on, it's amazing to watch how mesmerized she gets by them!!
Here are some pictures from earlier this weekend while we were hanging out with "Mama Bear" (my mom). She taught Summer how to "drive" the Jeep.
Crazy girl hanging out the window!!

*Summer's First Snow*
Friday, February 12th marked the first time that Summer had seen snow. This was a big deal, seeing how we live in the south and only have a good snowfall every few years, and that's if we're lucky!! I was watching Ethan and Cannon at their house like I do every Friday, and around 3:30 we looked out the widow and saw that it had started snowing!!! Jason came home early and told me that I should head home in case it started to stick, so that's what we did. We made it home safely just as the snow really started to stick to the ground. Brett had to work late, so we decided to stay inside and keep warm for the night. I opened up all of the blinds and Summer and I just sat in the living room and watched the snow fall. It was soo beautiful!!!
These pictures are a little bit out of order, but here is our "family" snowman that Brett made for us. He had to go back out to work on Saturday morning, so he wasn't really able to get out in the snow until it had almost melted. I'm just glad that he was able to make Summer her first snow man since I had to stay inside with her and keep her warm the whole weekend.
Here is a picture of Summer's first snowman :
I told Brett that you know you're southern when you use palm tree branches as the snowman's arms!!! I wish I had a hawaiian shirt and hat to put on him!!
Our little family and snowman :
Before Brett had to go back to work on Saturday morning, we took Summer out for a few minutes to enjoy her first snow. She LOVED looking at everything all pretty and white, but as soon as her hands touched the snow, she was taken by suprise and freaked out a little.
Here I am trying to calm her down from her startling and frozen encounter :
My little snow-bunny
"Daddy, what is all of this white and fluffy stuff and where did it come from??"
Daddy's girl
Me and my baby girl :)
Going out early this morning, Summer was thinking. "Why are we doing this soo early, I'm not even awake yet!!!"
We only took her out in the snow for about 5 minutes this whole weekend, Brett just wanted to see her out in the snow before it all melted away. I hate that he wasn't able to experience it with her as much as he wanted, but at least we had this morning together.
This next picture was from last night after the snow had been falling for several hours. It is crazy how fast it all accumulated!! We got a total of 8 inches, the most I have ever seen in my life!! Here is our backyard :

Happy 5 Month Birthday!!!!
I have always been very big on birthdays. I believe that it is such a huge celebration of your life and a blessing of all the days that God has given you. It is like your own personal holiday, which deserves to be celebrated by the ones that love you the most!!
Therefore I call the 4th of every month, Summer's birthday. No, we don't have a party with cake and presents each time, but I do aknowledge the milestones that she has made so far.
On February 4th, it was Summer's 5 month birthday. I can't believe that 5 months have already flown right by us so fast!!! It feels like I haven't even had the time to sit down and soak it all in at certain times. But boy do I love every moment with my Summer girl.
Here is Summer and her daddy being happy as always:
On Saturday, 1/30 I noticed that Summer's first tooth was cutting through!! It was the front bottom right one and it was so cute :) I could tell that she really wasn't feeling well and was coming down with a little cold, and when I saw that little tooth in there, I realized that was probably why. We stayed home and rested a lot over the past week so that she could get over it, and by Friday she was sounding a lot better. Then this past Saturday, I saw that her SECOND bottom tooth had cut through!! It was so exciting to me - here is a picture of her showing off her two new teeth :

Here is Summer before supper time. She was kicked back and happy that it was time to eat!!!
Here are some more pictures over the past few weeks of Summer girl. I haven't been on the computer much since we have both been under the weather, so these were before her teeth actually came through :
Summer has also learned how to hold her bottle very well. Here she is drinking some milk while watching Tigger and Pooh :
